Data Science Summit 2022 !
Data Science Summit is the largest data science conference in the CEE region. It covers topics ranging from analysis and processing (including big data), through implementation issues, to visualization (BI) and management topics. We were pleased to send our best analysts there. Here is a brief report.
The main topics of the meetings revolved around machine learning, data mining & exploration, and analytics/statistics in computer science. Within these threads, our employees were able to expand their knowledge on, among others, natural language processing, text mining, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, IoT, sensor data, quantified self, time series, stream data, online learning, spatial analysis, geomarketing, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
We were particularly drawn to the lecture "Modern Lakehouse as the Future of Analytical Platforms" presented by Łukasz Grala and Jakub Wawrzyniak. During the presentation, the speakers went through the historical development from standard data warehouse design methodologies to the latest approach — the Data Lakehouse based on cloud solutions. Attendees could learn about several architecture variants of the modern Lakehouse and hear about the development directions of this type of solution in the near future. The speakers devoted considerable attention to discussing the architecture of DataLakehouse ecosystems in various cloud solutions (GCP, AWS, Azure).
Ewa and Konrad unanimously agreed that the conference is an excellent opportunity to meet people who are just as passionate about what they do every day at work. It's good to be in such company 😊
