Optimization and Automation of the Spare Parts Delivery Process for Cars

One of our clients from the Automotive industry needed to automate and optimize the process of delivering spare parts to motor vehicles.

We began our work with an analysis of the current process, defining the variables, the set of constraints these variables should meet, and determining the project's objective function — the so-called AS-IS and TO-BE model. As a final result, the client was able to automatically track the stock levels of individual locations, forecast demand for new parts, automatically select optimal values, and send orders for missing goods from the central warehouse to the location.

The outcome of our cooperation was the delivery of a solution whose operation resulted in a significant reduction of logistics costs related to the flow of goods, while maintaining a minimal number of back-orders. The results of our solution are used in making key business decisions, and the algorithms are maintained by us to this day.
